Authority & mandate
Confirm the instructing party, authority, intended role and permitted communications.
Governance
Governance begins before an opportunity becomes an engagement. Arqom applies proportional review, documented boundaries and escalation throughout the workstream.
Control framework
The depth of review is proportional to the parties, jurisdictions, product, structure, value and risk indicators involved.
Confirm the instructing party, authority, intended role and permitted communications.
Establish relevant legal entities, beneficial ownership and responsible individuals.
Identify country, sector, counterparty and restriction risks requiring review or escalation.
Test the origin, purpose and internal consistency of the stated opportunity and supporting material.
Control access, record sources and apply appropriate confidentiality and need-to-know boundaries.
Stop, qualify, refer or decline when authority, evidence, conduct or specialist responsibility is unclear.
Decision route
Governance is not a decorative final check. It determines whether and how Arqom may continue.
Authority, purpose and controls are sufficiently clear for the next defined step.
Additional evidence, limitations or conditions are required before progressing.
Specialist legal, banking, sanctions, technical or other independent review is required.
The risk, evidence, conduct, authority or scope does not meet the engagement threshold.
Records & accountability
Material engagement decisions should be capable of reconstruction from the available record: what was known, which source supported it, what remained uncertain, who held responsibility and which conditions governed the next step.
Where independent professionals or regulated parties are required, their responsibilities remain distinct. Arqom’s coordination role does not transfer or dilute those responsibilities.
Nothing on this website constitutes due-diligence approval, counterparty endorsement, legal opinion, financial promotion, bank confirmation or assurance that a contemplated transaction is available or capable of completion.
Direct engagement
Initial enquiries are reviewed for scope, authority, counterparties, jurisdiction and Arqom’s ability to add value before any engagement proceeds.
